- Cohort versin 2.0 documentation errata - 02/07/87
-
- In the released documentation for Cohort 2.0, I (*egad*) described the
- method of entering the Escape Code (Ascii 27, Hex 1b) into the Printer
- Code Editor as the following: "hold down the "^" key, that is Shift-6,
- simultaneously press "[" (leftbrackett)".
-
- THIS IS PRECISELY WRONG, PRECISELY WHAT I, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, WAS THINKING
- TO DISTINQUISH THE ACTUAL PROCEDURE FROM.
-
- My apologies to those who were misled and perplexed by this. A synapse must
- missed firing while I was writing that particular sentence.
-
- The actual procedure is as follows:
- ****************************************************************************
-
- 3) Edit control codes - this is the central control command for
- Cohort. Cohort comes to you completely empty. You
- must install it for your particular printer. This is
- the command that allows you to do so. All of the
- commands in the previous three menus require that
- cohort send to the printer a series of "Escape" codes.
- These codes must be supplied from your printer manual.
- However, you need only enter these codes into the program
- once. After you determine which of the available
- functions you wish to activate, and you supply them to
- cohort through this command, you can then Save the
- current setup into a new copy of Cohort. Thereafter,
- when you invoke Cohort it will contain the settings you
- have entered. (See Save settings, below).
- | Pressing and holding down Ctrl and pressing the "[" key, |
- | will enter ESC (ascii 27) into the line being edited. |
- *****************************************************************************
-
- The cryptic description in the program itself (on the bottom line of the
- Edit Control Codes window, is correct.
-
- Also, minor, but at 4.1 of the manual, the version number is fiven as 4.4.
- This is version 2.0.
-
- Again, sorry for any inconvenience.
